GLYC Racing
Our fleet of over 20 adult and youth MC sailors race every Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 PM sharp out of the GLYC facilities, weather permitting. We try to complete three races on each day.

Tennis
The Glen Lake Yacht Club has two tennis courts available for the use of GLYC tennis members. Adult tennis clinics and round robins take place Saturday mornings from 9:30 to 11:00 am. Unsupervised adult round robins are scheduled Tuesday mornings from 8:30 to 9:30 am. Private lessons are available.

Social
Members have the opportunity to socialize almost every Saturday from the end of Memorial Day until the end of September on the lakeside deck. The GLYC social committee has scheduled a combination of informal socials and thematic dinners, including the 4th of July MC Sailors BBQ, Christmas in July dinner and Commodore’s Awards Night. No reservations are needed for GLYC member socials, but are required for member dinners.

Youth Activities
The GLYC provides are comprehensive summer youth activities program for the children and resident grandchildren of members. Sailing and tennis activities are structured into classes according to ability. Youth activity fees can be paid on a weekly or season basis. Youth activities include:

• Sailing classes take place every Tuesday through Thursday during the season. The GLYC has 12 club owned Butterflys and eight owned Prams. Classes are on a group basis according to ability. All children must be six years of age and are expected to pass a rigorous swim and tread test. Children need to provide their own life jackets. Private lessons are available for an additional fee.

Sailors participating in the youth sailing program are also eligible to travel to the Butterfly Nationals regatta in July with the sailing staff. This year the Butterfly Nationals are being hosted by the Torch Lake Yacht Club on July 22nd though the 24th.

• Tennis instruction takes place Tuesday through Thursday at the GLYC’s two tennis courts. Lessons are on a group basis according to ability. Private lessons are also available for an additional fee.

• Evening Youth Activities take place every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Tuesday night activities target younger ages while Thursday night activities are geared towards older children, may be held offsite and may require age restrictions and/or additional cost per activity. Capture the Flag at the Dunes is every Wednesday night and is open to all ages. Children age 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult, not a sibling.
